How to read the EV leaderboard
The first few rows are extreme performance cars and trucks, so the gap between them may look tiny. A tenth of a second can separate two headline EVs, but that does not mean the slower car will feel meaningfully weaker in normal traffic. Use the source link to check whether the number is a controlled instrumented test, a manufacturer claim, or an estimate.
For EVs, repeatability matters as much as the first launch. Some cars are fastest only with a warm battery, high state of charge, launch mode enabled, and the right tire temperature. Others may be slower on paper but more consistent after repeated acceleration runs or in colder weather.
What to compare after 0-60
- Range and charging speed, especially if the faster trim uses larger wheels or stickier tires.
- Braking distance and tire cost, because heavy EVs can use consumables quickly.
- Cabin space, cargo space, and visibility if you are choosing between a sedan, crossover, and truck.
- Whether the published number uses rollout, which can make the figure look quicker than a true standstill launch.
