Why sports-car 0-60 needs context

Sports cars can be traction-limited, gearing-limited, or launch-control-limited. A car with less power can look excellent to 60 mph if it launches cleanly, while a more powerful rear-drive car may pull harder after 60 mph. That is why the table should be read as a launch-speed comparison, not a full performance ranking.

Some sports cars are also tuned around driver involvement instead of the quickest possible automatic launch. Manual cars, lighter coupes, and cars with modest tire width may trail in 0-60 while still being the more engaging choice on a back road or track day.

A launch favors traction, gearing, launch software, and tire temperature. Sports-car enjoyment also depends on braking consistency, steering feedback, cooling, mass, transmission behavior, visibility, and how performance arrives at legal road speeds. Compare a straight-line result with the use you actually expect: street driving, autocross, track sessions, touring, or collecting.

Read a 0.3-second gap carefully

When two cars come from different tests, a small gap may reflect surface, rollout, weather, tire, or driver differences. First compare same-source runs. Then inspect quarter-mile speed, braking, and repeatability. A car that launches harder may not pull harder after 60 mph or remain consistent after repeated laps.
